This delicious Whole Wheat Bread recipe is perfect to make your sandwiches etc. Give it a try and let us know! You won’t regret it.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole all purpose flour plus more in case it’s needed
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 21/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 12/3 cups warm water (more or less or needed)
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil or any oil of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons flax chia mix (optional)

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  • in a mixer bowl add flours, flax chia mix, yeast and salt. mix until combined. next add in coconut oil and mix.
  • slowly add warm water and knead until a soft dough is formed. (8 minutes)
  • place in lightly greased bowl and allow to double in size. punch in middle and return to mixer and knead for a further 3 minutes.
  • place on lightly floured surface and give a gentle knead and cut into 2 equal parts.
  • form dough into breads and place in lightly greased loaf pans. allow to double in size. place in preheated oven and bake until golden brown. 50-60 minutes or depending on oven used.
  • remove from oven and allow to cool 10 minutes in pans before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
  • slice and serve with anything on the side.
  • enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour + more in case it’s needed
  • 1/2 cup plus 21/2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted plus 4 tablespoons more softened for inside the dough
  • 1/2 tablespoon dry instant yeast

Instruction

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  • mix salt and flour together. next place in a stand mixer flour mixture, melted margarine and yeast. mix until combined.
  • add sugar to water and stir until dissolved. next pour into dry mixture and knead for 8-10 minutes. this a sticky dough
  • place dough in a lightly greased bowl and allow to sit for 45-60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • once proofed, punch in middle and place on floured countertop or pastry and knead gently for 1 minute. cut into 4 or 5 equal parts (depending on the size preferred) and roll into small balls.
  • using a rolling pin roll out balls into even circles. place margarine or butter in middle of circle, and fold one half over the other. pinch to seal in the margarine to avoid oozing during the baking process.
  • next add more margarine to the top of the dough avoiding the edges and fold over to form a triangle. pinch to seal and place on greased baking sheet.
  • allow to rest for 10- 15 minutes and place in preheated oven to bake until golden brown.
  • once finished, while hot brush with melted or softened butter to give it a glossy finish. allow to cool before serving.
  • enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons flax chia blend (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley
  • 1/4 cup dried rosemary
  • 1/4 cup dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons fine leaf thyme
  • 4-5 or more garlic, grated pr 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • tablespoon green seasoning mix (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 11/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3/4 cup or more warm water

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  • in a standing mixer or a large bowl if using hands, add all dry ingredients inclusive of yeast, salt and sugar and herbs. mix until well combined. next add in oil and mix. slowly add in warm water and knead for 8 minutes in the mixer or 10 minutes if mixing by hand. a stick dough should be formed.
  • lightly grease a large bowl and place dough to double in size.
  • once doubled in size, punch in middle to deflate and knead for a further 3 minutes.
  • next place on a lightly floured surface and roll into a bread. place in greased loaf pan and allow to sit for 45 minutes or until it has doubled in size. next brush some olive oil herb mixture to the top of the bread and place in oven to bake until golden brown.
  • remove from oven and allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing and allowing to cool completely on a rack.
  • slice, servce and enjoy!

Ingredients

For the coconut bake

2 cups all purpose flour

2 tablespoons flax chia blend mix (optional)

1 1/2 tablespoons margine

1/2 cup coconut milk

1 tablespoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon oil-

For the smoked herring filling

  • 1 lb smoked herring
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup peppers diced (2 sweet pepper and 2 pimento peppers)
  • 4 cloves of garlic diced
  • green onion chopped
  • chado beno diced
  • tomatoes diced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 14 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  • in a mixing bowl, add all the dry ingredients and butter. mix until well combined. next add in coconut milk a little at a time. mix until a dough is formed. knead for 8-10 minutes. allow to rest for about 11/2 – 2 hours.
  • while dough is resting, wash smoked herring and bowl for 10 minutes.
  • cut up seasonings. next in a sauce pan add oil and chopped seasonings. mix until combined and allow it to sautee for a couple of minutes. next add in smoked herrings and any additional seasonings and mix well. allow to sautee for a couple more minutes. remove from heat once done.
  • once dough has rested, place on a lightly floured countertop and knead lightly. next cut into four equal parts and roll into small circles. add some of the filling in the middle and pinch the sides together tightly to keep any from spilling. gently form into small dics and allow to rest for a further 30 minutes
  • place in preheated oven and bake until golden brown (about 30-35 minutes or more depending on the oven used)
  • remove from oven and allow to cool
  • enjoy!

Looking for some that is savory yet delicious? Well, this Savory Scones Recipe is the perfect recipe for you to add to your party plate when hosting guests.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour (chilled)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk, cold
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, cubed and cold
  • 1 cup shredded cheese of choice
  • 1/3 cup diced turkey sausage/ham or bacon
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon green seasoning (for that extra pop of flavour)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (if using unsalted butter or margarine)

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f
  • in a large bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder and green seasoning. mix until combined. next add in butter or margarine and cut in using finger tips or a pastry cutter until a crumbly texture is achieved. next add in buttermilk, cheese, turkey sausage, chives and thyme. gently fold in until a sticky dough is formed (do not over mix).
  • place on a lightly floured countertop. add flour as needed to form a smooth dough ball. using a rolling pin, roll out dough into an even circle. place on a baking dish or a tawa. using a pizza cutter or a bench scraper, cut into equal wedges. place in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. (please note that different ovens varies in terms of baking time so keep an eye on your oven.)
  • once baked, remove from oven and serve warm
  • enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups self rising flour very cold
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large sweet potato cooked and pureed or mashed very cold
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk, very cold
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine very cold
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for top of biscuits)

Instructions

  • preheat oven between 375 -400 degress f depending on oven used
  • make sure all ingredients are very cold to avoid getting a tough biscuit
  • in a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar and cut in the butter until a crumbly texture is achieved. set aside until ready to use
  • in another bowl add potato and and butter milk and mix until combined
  • add wet to dry ingredients and fold gently but quickly. should be sticky and crumbly
  • pour unto a lightly floured countertop and gently mix adding flour as needed, to form a dough. give fold (about 3-4). using a rolling pin, roll out to desired thickness and using a cookie cutter, cut into biscuit shapes. place in a cake pan or baking dish.
  • allow to chill in fridge if oven is still preheating. bake for 15-20 minutes or until nice and golden brown
  • once baked, brush melted butter all over the tops of the biscuits and allow to cool
  • serve with jam of choice
  • enjoy!

  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or 1/4 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary or 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 large or 2 medium garlic cloves minced
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/8-1/4 teaspoon black pepper or white pepper
  • cheese
  • turkey sausage
  • onion

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f
  • in a skillet on low heat, combine olive oil, minced garlic, thyme, rosemary and black or white pepper. cook, stirring occasionally for 5 to 10 minutes until aromatic (don’t all the garlic to turn brown) and set aside
  • in a large bowl, add warm water, sugar and yeast. stir, then let it sit to proof for 5 minutes. add 1/2 cup of the flour and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil mixture to the yeast. stir a few times until combined (4-5 times or as needed) allow to rest for a further 5 minutes
  • stir in the remaining flour and salt and and mix until a sticky soft dough is formed. on a floured counter top, place dough and knead for 10 minutes until a smooth dough is formed. allow to rest for an hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • in a baking dish, add a little of the remaining olive oil mixture and coat it well. next punch dough in middle, add to dish and spread using finger tips until it’s evenly distributed. using your knuckles, make impressions all over the dough. add the remaining olive oil mixture all over. next go in with onions, cheese and turkey sausage
  • place in preheated oven to bake for an hour (more or less depending on the oven used) until golden brown

  • form into bread dough and place in loaf pan. allow to sit in warm area for another 45 minutes or until doubled in size. place in preheated oven to bake for 45-50 minutes depending on oven used. remove from oven once baked and allow to cool for 10 minutes in pan. then place on a rack to cool completely before cutting

  • 4-5 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (plus 1/4 cup for the blending of the green banana)
  • 3 medium sized slightly ripe green banana/green fig cooked
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons shortening, margarine or butter

Instructions

  • preheat oven at 350 degrees F
  • place the 1/4 cup of water and green banana/fig in a blender and blend for about 30 seconds
  • to a mixer start off by adding 3 cups of plain flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, yeast, shortening and the blended bananas. on low speed, mix until well combined
  • next add in the olive oil
  • add in the rest of the water and allow bread to form a dough (about 8 minutes if using a kitchenaid)
  • add the additional reserved flour as needed
  • once finished, place dough in a lightly greased bowl and allow it to rest for about an hour or until it has doubled in size
  • once risen, punch in the middle and return to the mixer to mix for an additional 3 minutes. once down place on a floured counter and form into two loaves. place in pan and allow to sit for another 45 mins until doubled in size
  • next place in preheated oven for about 35-40 mins (more or less depending on your oven make) or until golden brown
  • once finished remove from oven and allow to sit in the pans for about 5 mins and then remove from pan, place on a cooling rack to cool completely
  • serve with any side of your choice(can be served hot as well)
  • enjoy!

Coconut Bake Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 2 tablespoons butter / margarine / shortening
  • 2 cups sifted plain flour plus two tablespoons

Saltfish Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup saltfish soaked or boiled to help remove excessive salt
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • homemade green seasoning
  • 5 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried parley
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil salt (optional)
  • a dash paprika and cayenne mix
  • water (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon oil of choice

Instructions (Coconut Bake)

  • preheat oven at 350 degrees F
  • to a mixing bowl, add grated coconut, sugar, yeast, baking powder and shortening. mix well.
  • next add in flour and mix until well combined
  • add in coconut milk and mix until a dough is formed
  • allow to rest for about 20 minutes
  • form bake in round shape on tawah or baking sheet and place in preheated oven for about 30 – 35 mins (depending on your stove) or until nice and golden brown
  • once finished remove from oven and sit aside to cool

Instructions (Saltfish)

  • soak saltfish for a couple of hours or boil for about 15 mins to help get rid of excessive salt
  • once that process is done, wash well and season with homemade seasoning or any seasoning of your choice. set aside
  • in a frying pan on medium heat, add in green seasoning, onion, garlic, tomato and carrots. mix well and allow to to sautee for 3-5 mins
  • next add in salt fish, cayenne and paprika mix, parsley and basil. mix well. allow to cook for a few minutes (be sure to taste for salt etc)
  • add water as needed
  • once finished, serve hot with coconut bake
  • enjoy!
