Ingredients
- 1 lb green pigeon peas
- 1 ham bone
- meat of choice
- dumplings
- ground provisions (any of choice such as yam, green fig, dasheen etc)
- 1 cup coconut milk
- seaonings
Instructions
- in a large pot, place peas and ham bone to boil. (about 30 minutes)
- next add in meat of choice and allow to half cook. add in coconut milk and provisions. allow to come to a boil
- make dumplings while mixture is coming to a boil. add dumplings and seasonings. gently stir and allow to boil. be sure to check regularly for flavour and seasonings as well as any additional water to be added.
- once cooked, remove from heat and serve hot with avocadoes to the side (optional)
