Fried Bake/Float

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of plain flour plus 1/4 flour on reserved to use as needed
  • 2 tablespoons oat flour (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons shortening (optional)
  • -1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • place yeast, sugar, shortening and warm water in a bowl and mix until combined. next add in the oat flour if using and give it a mix
  • slowly add in flour and mix into a smooth dough. cut into small pieces and shape into balls. allow to sit for 15 mins. while dough is rising, place pan with oil on medium low heat
  • once dough is risen form into circular shapes and place in preheated oil . fry until golden brown
  • serve hot with any sides of choice
