Ingredients
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting counter top
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 5 tablespoons brown sugar
- 11/4 cups warm water or milk can be used in the place of water
- 1/4 cup olive or coconut oil
- 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- in a stand mixer, place flour, yeast. sugar and salt. mix on low speed until combined
- next, put the mixer or medium speed and add in oil followed by water slowly. allow to knead in mixer for about 6-8 minutes until a sticky smooth dough is formed.
- in a lightly greased bowl, place dough and cover with a kitchen towel and set in a warm place in kitchen to rise or double in size (1 hour)
- after dough has risen, punch down the middle and return to mixer to knead for the final time for 3 minutes. remove from mixer, place on floured counter top and form into bread. place in a lightly greased bread loaf pan.
- allow to rise or double in size for another 45 minutes. place in preheated oven for about 30- 35 minutes (depending on the oven used)
- once baked until golden brown, remove from oven and allow to cool in pan for about 10 minutes before removing and place on a rack to cool completely.
