Ingredients
- 1/2 lb yam, grated
- 1/2 pound tania, grated
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 6-7 whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1 stick of cinnamon bark
- a pinch of salt
- 1 tin or more of sweetened condensed milk
- 4-5 or more cups of water
Instructions
- start off with 1-2 cups of water on medium heat heat and add the spices and salt. allow to come to a boil.
- once the water is boiling, add in the grated yam and tannia and mix while add to avoid lumps.
- continue to mix and add water 1 cup at a time (this mixture is a bit thick so keep an eye on the texture)
- once it has cooked about 15-20 minutes, remove from heat and sweeten.
- pour into a bowl or cup and serve hot with any side of choice
