Bring in the festive mood by trying this delicious Christmas Fruit Scones. It’s perfect for your family gatherings. Give it a try today.

Ingredients

  • 11/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons cold margarine or butter
  • 2 tablespoon sugar (or more if desired)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds or nut of choice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberry
  • 2 tablespoons dried blueberry
  • 2 tablespoons cherry

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f
  • in a large bowl, add flour and cut in butter or margarine using a pastry cutter or your finger tips
  • next add in spices, sugars, cranberry, blueberry, raisins, cherry, almonds, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. mix until combined. next add in buttermilk and mix. do not over mix
  • place on a lightly floured countertop and gently fold a couple times and form into a circle. place on baking sheet or tawah. cut into rectangular shapes and place in preheated oven
  • allow to bake for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown
  • remove from oven allow to cool before glazing
  • best served fresh
  • enjoy!
