Mauby drink is usually a must in Caribbean households on holidays such as Christmas. To see how to make Mauby Drink, be sure to click below and give it a try! With this drink you can never go wrong.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup mauby bark
  • 8-10 cups water
  • cinnamon sticks
  • star annis
  • cloves
  • orange peel
  • sugar to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  • in a pot, add 4 cups water and then add in spices and mauby bark. allow to boil for about 15 minutes
  • once boiled. allow to cool completely before straining.
  • pour extract into a large mug and add remaining water, vanilla extract and sweetened to taste. store in fridge overnight to allow the flavours to combine together and served chilled
  • enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sorrel
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
  • star anise
  • 3 small cinnamon sticks
  • lime juice
  • lime peel
  • alcohol (optional)
  • 5 cups water

Instructions

  • remove seeds from sorrel. wash sorrel leaves thoroughly. in a pot, add water and spices. bring to a boil. add washed sorrel leaves and bring to a boil.
  • once the sorrel comes to a boil, remove from heat and allow to sit overnight before straining. strain and sweetened to taste. place in fridge until chilled before drinking or simple add ice cubes.
  • enjoy!
