Ingredients
- 2 lbs sorrel
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
- star anise
- 3 small cinnamon sticks
- lime juice
- lime peel
- alcohol (optional)
- 5 cups water
Instructions
- remove seeds from sorrel. wash sorrel leaves thoroughly. in a pot, add water and spices. bring to a boil. add washed sorrel leaves and bring to a boil.
- once the sorrel comes to a boil, remove from heat and allow to sit overnight before straining. strain and sweetened to taste. place in fridge until chilled before drinking or simple add ice cubes.
